Psychometric Evaluation WAIS – IV
WAIS -IVis the fourth edition of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale -Fourth Edition (Wechsler, 2008), and it is the most widely used adult competency rating scale worldwide.
The WAIS – IV edition has been translated into Greek and the WAIS-IV weighting for the Greek population was completed in 2013 by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
It’s designed to assess the cognitive ability of adolescents (16 years and 0 months) and adults (up to 90 years and 11 months). It consists of 15 sub-tests, in which the interested party is examined.
It’s administered by a psychologist.
Applications as a psychoeducational tool:
- 1. Complete assessment of the general cognitive functionality.
- 2. Part of assessment part for identifying learning difficulties, mental charisma.
- 3. Cognitive abilities and weaknesses in subjects with a variety of neurological conditions.
