Christina Karanikola is a graduate of the Department of Speech Therapy of the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus (2006). After graduating, she continued with postgraduate studies at Brooklyn College in New York, specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorder (2008). As part of her studies, she conducted clinical practice in various private morning schools with the main framework being the “Reach for the stars Learning Center”. She has attended numerous training seminars in Greece and abroad, such as “Great Expectations and Social Stories: Advanced Ideas and Applications” Inst. Carol Gray (2008), “Teaching language skills during Daily Activities to Children with Autism or Other Developmental Disabilities” James Partington, Ph.D., BCBA (2008), “Challenges of Autism: Getting the Social Stuff Right” (2008), \u201cDevelopmental Language Disorders in preschool and school children”(2011), Video Modeling (2018), basic education in Makaton, PECS, TEACCH etc. In addition, she has participated in the early treatment program of the Community Center for Mental Health Vyronas-Kaisariani: Treatment of Cases with Special Language Disorder.
\nFurthermore, she has been trained in the Cygnet program; a structured program with the ultimate goal of educating parents and carers in understanding the Autism Spectrum. She is a speech therapist certified in the Hanen method, “It Takes Two To Talk” (2015) and “More than words” (2016). She is a coordinator of groups of parents with issues of speech development and communication.
\nIn recent years she has been involved with adolescents and adults on the autism spectrum.<\/p>\n
